School Districts
The Education Foundation works in close collaboration with the region’s four school districts to facilitate strategic partnerships between the business community and the schools. The superintendents of each district serve on the Board of Directors and members of the districts' leadership teams serve on foundation committees and task forces. The goals of The Education Foundation and the districts for career preparation of students are strategically aligned.

Trident Regional Alliance (TRA)
Mission - The Trident Region Alliance is formed to create, establish and implement regional K12 programs that enhance the academic experience of local students.
The Trident Regional Alliance includes representation from Trident Technical College, The Education Foundation, Regional Education Center Coordinator, Regional Career Specialist and district level representation from the departments of Career and Technology Education, Guidance and Career Counseling from Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester Two and Dorchester Four school districts. The Alliance convenes monthly to evaluate current and new programs in an effort to align initiatives throughout the Trident Region to benefit all students.
Personal Pathways to Success
The Education Foundation fully supports Personal Pathways to Success, a state initiative signed into law in 2005 as the Education and Economic Development Act (EEDA). It is a system of organizing education in South Carolina to connect academic studies with preparation for participation in the workforce. Personal Pathways to Success is driven by a growing consensus that fundamental changes in education are necessary to help our state compete in the 21st century economy and combines high academic standards with enhanced opportunities to explore career options and build real-life working skills.
Personal Pathways to Success provides educational and career planning resources that bring together all South Carolinians – students, parents, educators, adult job seekers, and employers.The services offered provide strong support for South Carolina’s workforce and economic development priorities. By taking part in Personal Pathways to Success you will help build a bigger and brighter future for the state!
Trident Regional Education Center (TREC)
The Education Foundation also works in partnership with the Trident Regional Education Center (TREC), which is a component of Personal Pathways to Success. TREC is a web-based resource center that serves to connect students, educators and adults to occupational information, resources and training in the Trident community. The Center is charged to coordinate and facilitate partnerships that ensure a globally competitive region.

Trident United Way
The Education Foundation and Trident United Way share common goals regarding preparing today’s youth for success in the workplace and in life. Staff and volunteers from each organization collaborate on strategic planning, exchanging information and expertise that ultimately benefits the community.
Career and Technology Education (CTE)
The Education Foundation works in partnership with the school districts to connect business and industry to Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs. The mission of CTE is to provide students the opportunity to acquire career competencies for the workplace and a foundation for career development through higher education. CTE is dedicated to helping all students realize their career objectives and achieve an optimum level of proficiency consistent with their interests, aptitudes, desires, and abilities.
